Brit & Mikey at Camp Katur
A wedding weekend at Camp Katur near York. Forest ceremony, glamping with friends, a bonfire the night before, and pizza in a wildflower-filled barn.

This wasn’t just a wedding. It was a whole weekend.
Brit and Mikey chose Camp Katur, a sustainable glamping site just outside York, and leaned fully into what the place is about, slowing things down, staying close to nature, and spending real time with the people around you.
Everyone stayed on site. Wooden huts, canvas tents, no rushing off anywhere. I stayed too, tucked away in one of the glamping huts,
which meant the story started long before the ceremony and didn’t really end when the music stopped.
The evening before the wedding, everyone gathered around a bonfire. No speeches. No plans. Just people, firelight, and the quiet kind of excitement that comes when something big is about to happen.
It felt more like a festival camp than a wedding weekend. Conversations drifted, drinks were passed around, and the forest did its thing in the background.
That night set the tone for everything that followed.

The ceremony took place outside, deep among the trees. No aisles in the traditional sense, no walls, no ceiling, just the sound of the woods and a group of people standing close together.
It was simple and honest. The kind of ceremony where everyone stays present because there’s nothing pulling attention away from what’s happening.

After the ceremony, everyone made their way to the barn for food. A pizza van handled the catering — casual, unfussy, and exactly what the day needed.
The barn was styled to match the site itself. Natural woods, wildflowers, textures that felt like they belonged there. Nothing overdone. Nothing out of place.
It didn’t feel decorated. It felt settled.

Because everyone stayed on site, the day never felt like it was racing the clock. No transport to organise. No rush to fit everything in.
People drifted between spaces, sat on the ground, wandered back to their huts when they needed a moment. The wedding expanded and contracted naturally, like it had room to breathe.
Camp Katur is perfect for couples who want more than a single day. It suits weddings that value experience over spectacle, connection over schedules.
